Dirt in plane view

The phone rang as Filly was hosing off the back patio. The rain had covered the light beige concrete with an ugly coating of black mulch. She kept on hosing but answered the phone, it was her son.
The thing that her son wanted to talk about, was similar to what she was also talking about with her family. The constant propaganda to elevate the lives of animals over humans, like the story animal farm that she had read in high school.
And it was pigs that her son wanted to talk about. His family had been invited to go to a friends home where they had what they thought was a “family friendly” movie that they could watch in the new “media room”. When the movie came on, the show started with the dad holding a hatchet, and holding the runt pig who would normally not survive and walking away. But the daughter came up to the dad and yelled at him to stop, saying what he was going to do was morally unjust. This was a young girl, a child who was not responsible for providing for the family and who did not have the moral compass of an adult, who was prioritizing animals over her own father’s authority.
Her son said that the agenda to promote veganism (the pig crying that he did not want to be eaten) was so obvious that he started laughing. The other agenda, he felt, was to displace the role of fathers as deserving of respect and admiration, and instead give the authority to spiders and “the web” as being the authors of information that was “revolutionary” and morally correct. Right…
Her son told the host family that his daughter, who is a small child, had to go to bed and they left after five minutes without watching the movie.
Filly herself knew of a kid who grew up loving animals and was catered to by the parents. The love of animals, however, became out of proportion to reality, and took priority at which time that kid became not only vegan but became trans. Why not? If people act subservient to animals, and animals have unrealistic powers, why can’t people have unrealistic powers as well and even change genders.
Filly had learned the hard way the mistake of animals rights hysteria being elevated above the rights and welfare of human beings. She remembered being in California and seeing water bowls for dogs and treats for dogs at stores, which also had signs that children and strollers were not allowed.
Kids wanted to pretend to be animals, it appeared to Filly, because then adults would pay attention to them. They were not getting any attention being kids, so they had to “be a cat or a dog” in order to get the attention and love of their parents equal to the love family pets were getting. It was a sad state of affairs Filly thought.
The pigs were indeed in charge, manipulating the media and pushing an agenda without apology and also being incredibly blatant about it. Just in the past day, Filly had tried to watch two different Netflix shows. The first one, about a dad who was getting a divorce along with his daughter, and the movie promoted Lesbianism, sex without commitment or marriage, graphic sex education of elementary age children at schools and affairs among people who were supposed to love each other.
And it even had an actor that Filly had liked but his choice to participate in this movie made her lose her good opinion of him. (Ryan Reynolds, Definitely Maybe)
Then there was the second trash movie about a dad who had a daughter and he was a serial killer (The Trap) but was nice to his daughter, while killing and maiming other people. Both trashy movies, highlighting all the worst traits of men, portraying specifically dads, as horrible awful parents…and these were in the top viewed movies…showing how gullible people were to the trash and garbage being marketed by Netflix.
In the meantime, her other son, who was trying to be a good dad to his own son and was helping foster an additional child rescued from Meth Addict family members, was asked to go handle government papers at a court for this child. Children’s protective Services, he found out, had scheduled the meth head family of that child, to also be at the same court, the same day, at the same time, as the day her son was scheduled, where they accosted him and the foster child.. something that could be potentially harmful to the child and to the foster family, exposing them to the drug family and their addict behavior. So wrong on so many levels.
Real dads Filly could see mostly were good people and were doing what they should be doing as parents, but Hollywood fiction dads, were portraying dads as ignorant, sleazy and as mass murderers. And the blatant propaganda promoting animals as superior to humans in the media was also over the top and was not going to be tolerated any more by the public. People who saw this would now recognize it for what it was, and would shut it down. Animals have an important role, but civilization and healthy families were more important to American citizens.
Even books she was reading recently, like the books authored by Lee Child, that Filly liked, had a title, The Midnight Line, with propaganda that pushed illegal drugs especially Fentanyl and portrayed drug use as being necessary and even as being deserved by veterans and others long term. It was sickening to read. And after consulting Grok, Filly learned that long term addiction to Fentanyl was detrimental to the health and the healing ability of the body, depressing the immune responses. Filly had to fast forward through much of the book the same way she fast forwarded through the obviously trash Netflix shows before shutting them down completely without watching them.
Life, real life, meant more than what the media wanted to portray. Filly felt like it was her personal obligation to delineate that to Tater and Mister and other children, so they would not be taken in by fake propaganda.
She had learned to analyze the media in her journalism classes in College, and had learned to view most news, advertising and even movies and documentaries with healthy skepticism, looking at who was funding those shows. All shows were now tools of propaganda. Much of what children believed, she could see, was driven by their friends choices and had little to do with the child’s family or core values. For that reason, Filly believed many many families would be removing their children from public schools because the anti family agenda was still being promoted in spite of the rejection by parents.
The pigs might think they were in charge. But the animals, Filly knew, were getting fenced in. Dads were about being dads, and moms were being moms. And instead of acceptance by the public of aberrations in society, more and more Americans wanted to see acceptance of God and Family Values. Those who believed in God and Family were no longer too polite to say so, even if it meant alienating their friends. A person should not judge the state of another person’s soul, but Judgement of “Behavior” was necessary and correct, in order for parents to be able to teach kids Right and wrong. That was the role of parents. It was their role in the past, and continues to be their role today.
Filly hung up the phone and continued to hose the rest of the dirt off the patio. It was back in the mud where it belonged.
