Ella came over to spend the day with Eevie and Damon. On the way over, driving, we were all talking in the car about what to do when someone is annoying you. Ashlyn said that she would “ignore them”. I thought that was a great idea. Then I asked Ella what she would do and she said “I would pray for them”.
Ella is only six, and I was astonished at the wisdom in her answer.
Then we were talking about favorite songs, and I was going to play the favorite songs for them on my phone while I was driving. Eevie likes “Oceans, where feet may fail”. When I asked Ella what song she liked, she said “Mary did you know”.
When I played that song on the phone, her sweet voice sang along, and she knew all the words.
Just another example of how every time I think that I am doing something wonderful for children, it turns out that they do something wonderful for me. Their ideas and perceptions are so pure and uplifting.
I was thinking about that song, “Mary did you know”, and I thought about how Mary “knew” that Jesus could turn water into wine at the wedding feast.
I wondered how many moms today, knew the glorious things, perhaps miracles, that their children were capable of the way Mary understood Jesus and what he was capable of. I think Mary knew. Mary listened to angel messages. Mary was humble and obedient. Mary was pure and innocent. Mary was like a little child.
Mary “knew” because if light is synonymous with understanding, then she recognized and understood when Jesus said “I am the light of the world”.

Light in astrophysics, has, as it’s smallest particle, a photon. I was listening to “Laurance Doyle talk physics and metaphysics” about how there are no particles of darkness, only light. Jesus was the ultimate “scientist”.

So if Jesus is the light of the world, that light is everywhere.
And my randomly chosen bible verse that day, was to “put on the armor of light”…and “but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provisions for the flesh”.
What does it mean to “put on the light”? Is it like getting dressed…that kind of “putting on”?
When the kids get dressed, they put on shoes (backwards) put on shirts and pants and dresses, and these things necessarily “cover up” the body. And armor, which prepares for battle, REALLY covers up the body. But would one put on light to “cover up”?

And when the bible says to put on the armor of light, and if light is armor, is there really any “battle” with darkness, if it does not even exist in physics? Is the armor of “light” symbolic of covering up human or material weaknesses, and at the same time, illuminating Christlike or spiritual qualities, such as kindness, patience, understanding, meekness, humility, service?

And if the only things that are real, or exist, are photons of light, then, necessarily, these qualities cannot be extinguished or be limited.

So we can summarize that if we are to put on the armor of light, we can know we are protected, and know that this “light” or “understanding” can be seen everywhere.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

My friend Kristi was visiting her son in law, who is on a navy ship, and he told her that it is painted black on the inside, because he said that even a single candle can be seen in the ocean for miles. I thought about this and realized that where darkness is protection for those who are clandestine, Light as in understanding, was protection for Jesus.

Even the faintest light, can be seen and illuminates darkness, and in Jesus case, cause healings to happen. I love this concept.
That light or understanding, is also what conquers fear, confusion, hate, greed and addiction and conflict.

Mary did you know, that your baby boy, would someday walk on water?
I think, Ella, yes, Mary knew.
