Protection is not fragile
“Your mother has been in a car accident”. These are words that no one ever wants to hear. But God has promised me that me and mine are held safe, so when these words were spoken, they did not cause fear. I knew my mom was protected.
I learned that she also was not at fault, as the man driving behind her had a dash cam in his car, which recorded the entire event. And the lady who was at fault, apologized to my mom and gratefully she was not hurt. My mom’s car was totaled.
My moms grandson is helping her to find a new car, and is communicating to the insurance companies for her and my sisters who live in the area, are all going to help my mom heal from her injuries.
But as I sit at two am, I am overcome with tears of gratitude that she is safe and that she was protected. I am so grateful for the protection of God.
I could not sleep so I chose my randomly picked bible verse for today and it was Jeremiah chapter thirty one verse one.
“At the same time, saith the Lord, I will be God of all the families of Israel and they shall be my people.”
God wants me to know he is with us, his people.
My mom was driving to “adoration” at her church when this happened and when she was protected.
She prays every morning and every night devoutly and leads a life of generosity, kindness and forgiveness. When she needed protection, she received it. She is one of “God’s people”.
I am completely awed by the means of communication my randomly chosen bible verse has been to me, providing me what I believe is a direct line to God and his specific thoughts to me at any given time.
I wanted to follow this “God “ thought and be surrounded by that love that embraced and shielded my mom.
What followed in the bible was so uplifting and reassuring and breathtakingly optimistic and joyful.
This is what God is saying to me right now…
Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.
7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
God has DEFINITELY got this…all the problems that we seem to be facing, are going to be handled because we as a people have prayed and repented. God is saying our work SHALL BE REWARDED….the steadfast prayers of me, my mom, my sisters, my children and all like minded Christians, are HEARD.
All I can say is when God comforts you, there is no room for anything else but comfort. God is not only comforting me but it comforting all the people who belong to him…All his people. This bounteous generosity to us is so uplifting and beautiful and incredible.
God can make me feel comforted, directed, satisfied, and can even make me laugh because interestingly enough, God also has a sense of Humor.
A while back my mom gave me a book to read called, “I heard God Laugh”. This delightful book has the same perspective that I have of God communicating to us in a myriad of ways, and for me this happens when I pick my random bible verse for the day.
For example, I took photos of myself in front of a window with a curtain in order to be able to try to paint how light shines on the human form. When I looked at all the pictures, the light from the outside took the form of a heart in each of the photos. I even wrote about it earlier in one of my other stories.
And the randomly chosen bible verse for that day was…
“There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. “
God wanted to make me laugh and laugh I did indeed. I LOVE that God has a sense of humor!
As I find myself looking more and more forward to the messages that God has for me in the bible, I find myself less and less worried about the appearance of things portrayed in social media or in the news. It does not concern me because I can see how there is not anything that God cannot do.
If God can take time to laugh in the middle of all these concerning world events, then apparently God’s got this!
Thank you God for this new day and I know you hear me always.
