The purse that nobody took
As I was doing my daily ten thousand steps I noticed that someone left a purse on the top of their truck bed. I am guessing that when they got out of the truck, they put the purse on the truck and then got other things out and forgot to bring in the purse.
The purse apparently sat out all night and yet no one took it. I was about to take the purse and put it by the back door, but instead I left it there.
An untouched purse, in plain view of the street, was a wonderful tribute of the goodness of mankind.
I believe mankind is basically good, and good people do not take what is not theirs, even if no one is looking. I hoped that the owner of the purse was able to feel gratitude and recognize that even when a people make mistakes, they can trust in the good of God’s creation.
Trust in God’s creation, because it comes from God, is the equivalent of Faith. I have faith that inflation will turn around, that the war will stop, and that those billionaires, tech entities, and corporations trying to control the world will recognize that God is in charge and is doing a dang good job.
And God does it in a way that is just, that acknowledges the suffering of all people, and pays them back double in blessings…it is just mustard seed size bit of faith, and a dash of trust.
